Hello there!
My name is Gabriella Salas and I am a digital storyteller. I have experience in both digital news reporting and creative media production. I am excited to continue my education in video and audio production, and I am always striving for opportunities to expand my skills.
I am currently earning a Video Production certificate at Montgomery College. In my studies I have already produced, hosted and written scripts for several productions, including a news segment highlighting campus clubs and a gameshow.
Most recently, I interned with Montgomery Community Media highlighting hyperlocal news stories, including community events and local businesses.
While earning my B.A.’s in Media & Communication Studies and English Literature at UMBC, I was an Opinions staff writer for the student-run newspaper, The Retriever. I wrote articles on various topics from campus life to popculture and world news.
I was fortunate enough to earn a court reporting internship with Baltimore Witness, where I fact-checked information, reported on ongoing trials, and assisted with data entry to support coverage of the Baltimore City judicial system.
When I’m not busy working on another project, I’m probably at a concert or fiddling around with my Yamaha F335 acoustic guitar.
